Measuring And Visualizing The Increase In Narrative Complexity In TV Series

The purpose of this report is to summarize the steps undergone by now, creating an overview of the work done, results obtained on different stages, as well as preliminary conclusions and methodological concerns. It must be noted that the purpose of this project was to test certain digital methods of word identification, mapping and narrative complexity analysis on a modern television series.

The starting point of the project was the choice of methodology and tools to be used, as well as series to be analyzed. Although in the incremental phase, our intention was to chose two television series and undertake a “compare and contrast” analysis between the two, the time constraints only allowed for the complete and proper analysis of only one series.
